This event is taking place on Saturday July 23, 2022 from 3pm - 6pm at the Arts Etobicoke’s Storefront Gallery, 4893a Dundas St W, Etobicoke. The launch will feature an interactive AR experience and three music/dance performances by Indigenous, Latin and South Asian artists. We hope you can join us for this free, family-friendly celebration!
Sites of Significance is an immersive digital art project that combines public art, technology, and placemaking. Through the use of Augmented Reality (AR), six artists have animated six sites of historical and cultural importance to communities in Etobicoke. We have three Indigenous artists working on this project - Susan Blight, Philip Cote, Nyle Miigizi Johnston - and three IBPOC/newcomer artists - Khadija Aziz, Khaula Mazhar, Nicholas Sanchez.
