Have Your Say on AI Transparency in Canada
The Government of Canada is currently asking Canadians to help shape how AI transparency is developed in Canada, including how AI-generated content is identified, how people know when they are interacting with AI, and what information should be available about how AI systems are developed and used. For artists and creative workers, this is an important opportunity to make sure our perspectives are part of the policy conversation. Take a few minutes to share your views and help shape what comes next.
The consultation is open until September 23, 2026.
Federal Government (Canada)
The federal government sets national AI policy and develops laws. Federal decisions affect copyright, ownership, and creative rights in our country.
It also helps shape AI safety standards, data security for creative work, and employment protections as AI changes creative jobs.
Provincial Government (Ontario)
The Province oversees education, culture funding, economic decisions to support business growth, and workplace standards and protections.Â
Provincial decisions can affect arts education, funding, employment opportunities and cultural programs.
Municipal Government (Toronto)
Toronto handles local arts funding, cultural programs, and community initiatives that shape everyday creative life.Â
Toronto can support local initiatives that protect artist livelihoods and encourage safe, ethical AI use in community cultural spaces.
