AI and Policy

The direction of AI is not fixed; it is actively being shaped through policy, industry decisions, cultural adoption, and public pressure. This panel focuses on how artists and creative communities can participate in that process in meaningful and practical ways.

Bringing together voices from the arts, education, policy, and technology sectors, the discussion will explore how creatives can engage with AI as advocates, collaborators, and informed participants in shaping standards around transparency, consent, creative rights, and responsible use.

Panelists will discuss how artists are already influencing AI systems through their work, their choices about participation, and their engagement in public discourse. The session will highlight ways to build collective voice and agency — whether through advocacy, community organizing, professional networks, institutional engagement, government policy or public storytelling.

Above all, this conversation will reinforce that artists are not passive recipients of technological change. They are active contributors to culture, and their voices are essential in determining how AI is developed, governed, and ultimately integrated into creative life.
